Well, we did not have an Internet connection last night while staying with my parents in Oklahoma. They have just moved into a house in a small town (Cameron) and have not yet hooked up to the Internet. So, day three was uneventful. We got two new trailer tires and headed for Oklahoma. We arrived in Cameron around 6:30 pm.
Today, we helped my parents unload their trailer of the items they brought from our house in Florida and did some needed rarrangement of our trailer and truck since the loading on Monday was hurried and in the rain. Things are fitting better now and we took off from Oklahoma about 2:00 pm. Now, it is almost 11:00 pm and we are in a Best Western in Harrisonville, Missouri. Scott says “things are going quite well”!
We enjoyed the time with my parents, but are happy to be on our own for a bit. The plan as it stands now is to visit Scott’s sister and brother in Minnesota on Friday night and Saturday. We will make a few visits with others there as well. Then, we will head to Fargo North Dakota to visit Scott’s other sister and her family. We hope to be there sometime Sunday.
If I can find the time in the next day or so, I will download the pictures from the camera and begin building a photo album of the trip for all to see. The pictures are not doing well within this blog. Here is a map of our route so far.
We have driven 1504 miles which equates to about 27 hours of driving time if we did not make any stops. We have touched on eight states in our travels so far; Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisianna, Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Can you guess how many more we have to go?
Stay Tuned!

Well, we have stopped for the night again. This time we are in Canton Mississippi. This is a small town just about 25 miles from Jackson. It has been a good day of travel with a few little incidents. The weather was good and the scenary was nice. If you want to follow our path, we took 75 to 10. We then jogged onto 12 for a bit and are traveling on 55. This will take us up to 40 which we will take to get to Oklahoma where my parents live. My parents have been tgraveling with us since we left Florida. Today, they had a blowout on their trailer. Changing that tire on I10 was a bit harrry, but we got it done and all is well. We will be starting early tomorrow and make it to Oklahoma tomorrow. Here is a map of where we have been so far.

Well, we are in Marianna Florida. We finished the final packing today in a complete down pour due to Tropical Storm Alberto. We finally were able to get out of town about noon. Thank goodness, as we hear the weather is only getting worse and Alberto may be a level 1 hurricane soon. We should be able to beat the storm out of Florida and have a better travel day tomorrow. This is something we are really looking forward to not dealing with!
Our travel was really not too bad even though we were all exhausted. Thor (the dog) seems to be a great traveler and is throughly enjoying the Best Western in Marianna. I took some good pictures of him in his cocoon in the back seat today, but I have to unbury the camera from the mess in the truck before I can put those up. Stay tuned.
Scott was very tired, but is quickly getting the hang of driving the big rig. Thank goodness for good music on our satelite radio. I also have some good pictures of us with the big truck and trailer. We will see if we can get them up tomorrow.
Gotta get some shut eye now. Big travel day tomorrow! - S&S

It has been a very long process of getting out of Florida and off to our new adventure. We had originally wanted to leave on Friday, but alas we are still here. It is now very early Monday morning and we will be trying to head out early today. If all goes well, we will be on the road.
Iwill add pictures of the stages of moving up to now soon. We started packing the trailer on Tuesday. We also lost water in the house on Tuesday. $1500 later and a new pump and we were back up with water on Wednesday. The packing continued as did the final touches on the house which seemed to just keep going and going. I contacted all the right people for taking care of the lawn and the pool and made all sorts of arrangements. Now, we are just trying to beat the bad weather out of Florida.
Keep checking in as we will move along as quickly as we can and post whenever we have an internet connection. Until then keep us in your thoughts. - S&S

Well, yesterday was my (Shauna’s) last day of work at the Center for 21st Century Teaching Excellence. Today I will meet up with some of the people from USF that I have known over the years at a goodbye get together at USF. After that, all my energies will be put into getting us on our way. It will probably be next Thursday or Friday before we actually get on the road as we have to wait for the shell for the truck to come in so we have some additional storage space for the trip. Scott will be done working on Friday. We are really looking forward to our trip, so stay tunned! - Shauna
