Well, we thought spring was here, but it seems that winter is trying to hold on. The weather warmed up nicely about a week ago. The flowers are blooming. The trees are budding. Now, it is getting colder again (40’s to 60’s). In fact yesterday we had rain, hail and snow all in one day! Even with all the strange weather, the scenery in Wisconsin is amazing! I think this must be the only place where the grass is already green when the snow melts. No kidding, the grass beneath the snow was already (or still) green. So, it is a lush green paradise here.
It has been a while since we have updated, so let me catch up on what is happening in our lives. Scott and I are both well and happy. We are enjoying our new jobs and our new neighborhood. Madison is a great place to live with lots of things to do and see. We have determined that we are not “condo people”, which probably comes as no surprise to those that know us. However, we are beginning to meet our neighbors and will really enjoy the summer in the city before we move on. This weekend we hosted a meet and greet in our condo for people in our building to get to know each other. The turn out was not large, but it was fun and those who came seemed to appreciate the chance to mingle with their neighbors.
So, after we enjoy the summer, we hope to be moving into a house. We close on a piece of property on the west side of town (called far west) on May 1st. It is about 2 acres, wooded with a nice view and somewhat secluded but close to everything. Sound like us? We think so. We have chosen a builder and are on our way to designing house plans. We will keep everyone posted on progress. If I get time, I will post some pictures of the property although I do not think that they really do it justice. It is much better in person!
Plans for the next few months include a trip to see Scott’s mom in Minnesota, a trip to visit my parents in Oklahoma and a conference for me in Jekyll Island, Georgia. We also plan to catch a Cubs game with Scott’s Nephew and go to Milwaukee to see the Brewers play. In between those we hope to have some time to take the trailer out camping and ride our new bikes. I am out of time this morning, so we hope you are all doing well and can not wait to hear from you. Life is good here!

I’m so glad to hear that things are going well for you two! You certainly have gone through your share of anxiety and continued to bear up to the pressure. Its exciting to hear about the new property and house building - what fun!
Like you, we’ve been having similar weather - that hint of spring and then a little snow to keep you in check. I’m thinking though, that summer’s on its way, after all, the first cruise ship is supposed to be coming into Juneau this weekend.
We are also thinking about changing living space. Although we love the view we don’t love having someone living over us–its been a long time since apartment living and I’m not ready to give in to not being in control of when I wake up in the morning!

Your life sounds like it is so exciting and fun. What a change from the far North. I am so happy for you.
It will be so nice to live in a house that you plan how you want it and be in area where you want to be.
So exciting….Sheri
